Paper Based Tray for secondary packaging

IMA Safe’s pharmaceutical cartoning portfolio is conceived as a robust and versatile platform for secondary packaging, capable of adapting to diverse product types, formats, and sustainability targets across the pharma industry. The range includes horizontal and vertical cartoners designed to manage a wide variety of products, carton formats, and production speeds while meeting stringent regulatory requirements. Special attention is given to gentle, precise product handling, even at high output, combined with fast and repeatable changeovers, ergonomic access, and optimized footprints that support high Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). In these applications, secondary packaging typically combines a carton with an internal tray used to handle and protect products. This includes dedicated equipment for parenteral products, using trays to safely handle and protect vials, syringes, and other fragile items. IMA solutions enable the use of paper-based trays enclosed within cartons, allowing the configuration of fully paper-based secondary packaging by replacing conventional plastic tray materials. All IMA cartoners are fully compatible, also via retrofit, to integrate the Paper Tray Packaging Module, enabling the transition from traditional material configurations.
