IMA Life and IMA MED-TECH are pleased to announce their participation in the Combination Products Seminar 2026, taking place on 16–17 September 2026 in Tokyo, Japan.

The seminar will focus on the evolving landscape of combination products in response to the increasing diversification of drug modalities, including antibody therapeuticsGLP-1 receptor agonists and subcutaneous absorption-enhancing enzymes. As new therapeutic approaches continue to emerge, the industry is facing new design requirements and technological challenges, particularly in areas such as home-based treatment and ease of use for both patients and healthcare professionals.

Over two days, industry experts will discuss the delivery technologies being developed to support these needs, including high-volume self-administration devicesintranasal delivery systems and inhalation devices. The program will also address the unique requirements of combination products, including regulatory compliance, technical considerations, human factors and quality requirements arising from the integration of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Particular attention will be given to current and emerging combination products, such as autoinjectors, as well as the ongoing integration of digital health and smart-device technologies. Through discussions on existing modalities and future developments, the seminar aims to explore what will be required from next-generation combination products and drug delivery technologies, while considering regulatory, technical and usability perspectives.

“Integrated All-in-One Platforms for High-Speed Production of Subcutaneous Injectable Products”

Abstract

This session will explore the concept of “all-in-one” integrated platforms for the high-speed production of subcutaneous injectable products, starting from aseptic filling in RTU syringes and extending through device assemblylabelling and secondary packaging. Particular attention will be given to the integration of full-robotic fill-finish technologies with downstream automation for autoinjectorspens and safety devices.

The discussion will address the key technical and regulatory drivers behind aseptic processing in compliance with the evolving expectations of EU GMP Annex 1 for injectable products.

By connecting traditionally separate manufacturing steps into a harmonized production ecosystem, all-in-one production lines can improve quality control, optimize manufacturing footprint, and support faster industrialization of new therapies.
