IMA Life North America – Grand Opening Ceremony in Tonawanda on 24 September 2026

September 24 saw the official opening of the new 120,000 sq.ft. IMA Life North America facilities in Tonawanda. Built in line with IMA Group’s sustainability standards, the new production and office buildings are located on a 15-acre site at 700 Colvin Woods Parkway, Tonawanda, NY 14150, replacing the existing 60,000 sq.ft. facility at 2175 Military Road.

With 120,000 square feet – twice the previous area – dedicated to the activities of IMA Life North America, there will be a major increase in the production of the company’s cutting-edge freeze-drying equipment and the current headcount of 195 employees is destined to grow in line with the additional manufacturing capacity.

As a fundamental part of the aseptic processing lines developed by IMA Life and delivered worldwide to the pharmaceutical industry, freeze dryers, many of which are manufactured at the Tonawanda site, are complemented by several technological solutions that are essential elements in the production of sterile drug products. Alongside a wide range of freeze dryers, IMA Life provides blowers, washers, depyrogenation tunnels, liquid and powder fillers, isolation technologies, automatic vial loading/unloading systems and labellers.
