IMA Active is pleased to announce its participation in Continuous Manufacturing Forum, which will be held in Princeton (NJ) on September 22-23, 2026.

Continuous Manufacturing Forum (CMF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the science and adoption of Continuous Manufacturing. By fostering collaboration between academia, the pharmaceutical industry, CDMOs, and equipment providers, CMF aims to drive innovation and integration in the field, serving as a catalyst for meaningful connections and collaborative insights.

Lorenzo Menarini, Process Engineer at IMA Active, will present a comparative analysis of OEE between CDC lineas and batch setups titled “OEE analysis in Continuous vs bact Manufacturing: impact of internal and external lubrication”.

The pharmaceutical industry is increasingly transitioning from traditional batch processing to Continuous Manufacturing (CM) to enhance operational efficiency and maintain consistent product quality. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) serves as a critical metric to quantify and evaluate these manufacturing improvements. This presentation provides a comprehensive comparative analysis of OEE with a specific focus on the operational impact of distinct lubrication strategies. By employing Design of Experiments (DoE), we assessed critical quality attributes (CQAs), including NIR and tablet physical properties, across batch and continuous setups. This study is focused to predict the process efficiency and operational robustness, ultimately establishing a knowledge-driven framework to streamline the critical scale-up transition from laboratory formulation design to full commercial-scale continuous production.
