The C28-E is suited to smaller production runs thanks to its reduced footprint and packaging speeds of up to 210 bags/minute. Based on IMA’s consolidated knotting technology, the C28-E processes naked bags, crimped and heatsealed outer envelopes for tea and non-free-flowing products.
In order to facilitate product flow and reduce degradation, the C28-E is equipped with a special vibrating feeding system for herbs. A simple automatic cartoning attachment for pre-glued cartons on one row can be fitted to complete the working cycle. Both tuck-in and Kurzlaschen styles are possible. Alternatively, the C28-E can be fitted with a hand removal unit for counted bags thanks to the machine’s lower production speed.
Product control devices including a video camera to check correct knotting, and warning signals contribute to ensuring maximum product quality.

Simultaneous knotting of the filter bag and tag is achieved by 3 synchronised mechanical elements and constantly checked by a high-precision video camera connected to a dedicated display. This ensures total quality control at the heart of the packaging process
