Packaging line for pressed bouillon cubes with multiple secondary packaging options
High-speed line for bouillon tablets including: pressing, side-fold wrapping, cartoning or tray packaging. Versatile solution for multi-pack options, adapting to market demands
The journey
of the stock cube
An Automated Process of Precision and Performance
In this high-performance packaging line, every detail is engineered for maximum efficiency and versatility. Specifically designed for the production and packaging of pressed stock cubes, the line ensures seamless integration between forming, wrapping, and secondary packaging operations.
A key strength lies in its dual secondary packaging capability: the system can handle both wrap-around carton packaging and tray-style display packs, allowing manufacturers to respond dynamically to different market requirements and distribution strategies.
At its peak, the line can process up to 60 trays/min or 180 cartons/min, depending on pack configurations and number of layers, all while ensuring product integrity, tight tolerances, and visual appeal.

PDP24
Pressing – Maximum Speed, Consistent Quality
The journey begins with the pressing of powder in the PDP24 single-punch tablet press. This machine is the true core of the line: equipped with 24 punches, it can form up to 4,000 cubes per minute, ensuring uniform quality even with complex recipes or powders with low flowability.
Thanks to a double-compression process (pre-compression and final compression), the cube achieves optimal density and compactness. The PDP24 also offers quick format changes (from 4 to 13 grams), easy maintenance, and a compact footprint with a hygienic design that separates the production area from the mechanical components. -
I10
Wrapping – Flexibility at the Service of the Product
Once formed, the cube moves to the I10 side-fold wrapping machine, where it can be wrapped in different packaging materials: from alu-based to paper based foil . Designed for high efficiency in a single-lane execution, the I10 wraps up to 1,000 cubes per minute.
Its greatest strength is exceptional flexibility: it enables fast format changeovers, features a fully electronic architecture, and has low operating costs thanks to modular, plug-in components. The new HMI simplifies operator interaction and provides real-time production monitoring and remote assistance. -
CS400 and FTB569
Line Diversion – Manual but Fast Changeover
At this point in the process, the line offers a manual but fast and intuitive product redirection system: operators can easily switch the bouillon cube flow toward one of two secondary packaging machines depending on production needs.
This design provides outstanding operational versatility, allowing the user to alternate between:
• CS400 cartoner, for classic wrap-around carton packaging,
• FTB569 tray packer, ideal for display-oriented logistics.
This simple changeover mechanism enables flexible scheduling and adaptation to various markets, formats, and customer demands — with minimal downtime. -
CS400
Cartoning – Precision and Cost Optimization
When transferred to the CS400 wrap-around cartoner, the wrapped cubes are boxed using flat blanks, reducing packaging material costs compared to pre-glued cartons.
The CS400 offers high flexibility in box configuration (single or multi-layer) and can process up to 180 boxes per minute. Boxes are closed using tucked or glued end flaps and a glued longitudinal flap, with either hot or cold melt adhesive, ensuring both structural strength and premium presentation. -
FTB569
Tray Packing – Logistics Efficiency and Shelf Appeal
Alternatively, cubes can be directed to the FTB569 wrap-around tray packer. Here, cartons are grouped into trays formed directly around the product, with zero tolerance, reducing material usage and optimizing transport space.
Compact (less than 3 meters long), precise (tolerances up to ±0.3 mm), and quick in format changeovers, the FTB569 guarantees gentle product handling and perfectly fitting trays that enhance shelf presentation while streamlining logistics.
