IMA Group is proud to announce that the IMA Sustainability Program X Supplier project has been selected by ASviSAlleanza Italiana per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile (Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development) – as part of the “Buone Pratiche dei Territori 2025” Call.

The Call, open from June to August 2025, collects and highlights territorial initiatives promoted by public authorities, companies and third-sector organisations, offering national visibility within the Italian context to projects capable of generating concrete and replicable impact.

The selected practices are included in the Rapporto Territori 2025, now in its sixth edition, which provides an updated overview of Italy’s commitment to sustainability. The report shows how communities, institutions and businesses are developing integrated solutions on key issues such as social cohesion, climate transition and innovation.

For the 2025 edition, ASviS selected 216 initiatives, reflecting the vitality of a country that acts as a true laboratory of sustainable innovation: an ecosystem capable of growing, regenerating and fostering new collaborations to translate the goals of the 2030 Agenda into everyday reality.

In this context, the selection of the IMA Sustainability Program X Supplier project confirms the Group’s commitment to promoting an increasingly sustainable supply chain and contributing to the responsible development of local territories.

What IMA Sustainability Program X Supplier is

The IMA Sustainability Program X Supplier is an initiative developed by IMA S.p.A. to enhance the ESG performance, resilience and transparency of its supply chain. The project not only strengthens the sustainability practices of suppliers but also contributes to building a genuine sustainability ecosystem: the partners involved become active agents of change, develop concrete best practices and serve as exemplary models for the entire sector.

Following an initial analysis phase in 2023, the programme was designed to raise awareness of ESG topics, assess suppliers’ maturity levels and support them in improving their sustainability performance, also considering evolving regulatory frameworks such as the CSRD.

Operational since January 2024, the programme began with a pilot phase and was subsequently extended to 258 suppliers. The model is structured around four key pillars: Engagement, Development, Assessment and Growth.

As part of the initiative, the IMA Academy X Supplier was established as an ESG‑focused training pathway that, through dedicated sessions, provides suppliers with practical tools and targeted content to strengthen their ESG competencies and foster more sustainable practices.

As a subsequent step in the programme, a structured ESG assessment was conducted to evaluate suppliers’ maturity levels. Each supplier received an individual scorecard indicating the results achieved, together with a personalised improvement plan designed to support continuous progress over time.

Why this project matters

The IMA Sustainability Program X Supplier represents a concrete example of how industrial value chains can accelerate sustainability through collaboration, capability‑building and measurable improvement.

Moreover, the initiative directly contributes to SDG 8, SDG 12 and SDG 13 by fostering fair and skilled work conditions across the supply chain (SDG 8), promoting more responsible and transparent production and procurement practices (SDG 12), and supporting emission‑reduction and climate‑action efforts throughout the value chain (SDG 13).
