Although freeze-drying is one of the oldest techniques in the pharmaceutical industry for the preservation of unstable materials, there has been an increasing demand for lyophilized products and equipment, in particular in the last decade. In fact, today, about half of all sterile injectables are lyophilized.
Today’s freeze-drying process demands increased process control, with reduced processing time augmented with upgrades in equipment to remain compliant with a changing regulatory landscape. To accommodate such growth, IMA Life uses its in-depth process knowledge to make freeze-drying faster, safer, cheaper, and compatible with all industry requirements and challenges.

Two-stage reciprocating semi-hermetic/screw compressors/liquid nitrogen refrigeration system.
Shelf cooling to -55/70°C and condenser cooling to -75/120°C. HFC/LN2 refrigerants.
Integrated automatic, semi-automatic and manual loading/unloading systems.
Vacuum measurements with capacitance manometers.
KRYOSEQ® advanced technology using sterile liquid nitrogen to control the nucleation process during pharmaceutical freeze-drying.

Lyomax shelves are designed and manufactured with IMA Life’s patented FUSION™ technology, to ensure higher quality and enhance process reliability. The FUSION™ – FUSION PLUS™ shelves are lighter and more resistant than conventional solutions and offer enhanced heat transfer properties.
