The E-CO Flex XL is a modular equipment designed with Intralogistics needs in mind, where box dimensions are significantly larger compared to those used in standard E-Commerce fulfillment. Just as for the E-CO Flex concept, the platform is composed by two modules:
– E-CO Flex XL Forming: automated case erector and former
– E-CO Flex XL Closing: automated case closer with height-reduction capabilities
The E-CO Flex XL not only processes larger case footprints but also handles small cases, maintaining the same minimum case dimensions as the standard E-CO Flex.

E-CO FLEX XL Forming
The E-CO FLEX XL Forming is an advanced case erector able to erect multi-size FEFCO 201 and FEFCO 200 cases, compatible with both single- and double-wall cardboard; the machine automatically picks, erects, and forms right-sized cases based on cubic information received from the WMS.
Case magazine is made from 8 up to 16 cassettes; the XL boxes, which do not fit in the standard E-CO Flex cassettes, are fed via external vertical magazines (up to 3), holding up to 170 boxes each.
The cassettes’ configuration can be customized combining the different sizes of cassettes.
E-CO FLEX XL Closing
Just like the standard version of the E-CO Flex Closing module, the E-CO Flex XL completes the packing process by closing FEFCO 201 cases, up to 10 cases/minute.
The process includes case down-sizing if the machine detects extra void space that can be eliminated (up to 270 mm).
E-CO Flex Closing XL can apply traditional pressure-sensitive tape or sustainable Water-Activated Tape (WAT).
The E-CO Flex XL Closing module can be equipped, as option, with a Print & Apply labeller and quality inspection cameras to check flaps folding and taping.
